Step-by-step instructions for installing interior doors

The process of installing an interior door

Therefore, with the installation of this type of doors, you will definitely not have any difficulties. Another thing is when there is an option that is not assembled into a single whole.

In this case, you need to go through the following steps:
 door frame-assembly;
 installation of door accessories;
 installation and fastening of the door frame in the opening;
 installing the door on the hinges of the box.

Installation of interior door boxes

The most difficult is the first stage, since there are several ways to install the base for an interior door. If there should be a threshold, then you will need two racks (beams), a lintel bar and a lower bar. Now accurately measure the size of the opening, and in accordance with the received measurements, calculate the size of the racks. Then transfer all the dimensions to the material, put marks and cut off the extra parts of the slats to connect all the elements into a single whole. Please note that the thickness of the bars should always be greater than the thickness of the door leaf itself.

Now you need to install the hinges on the door frame. First, make an indent of 20 cm from the top and bottom on the inside of the box, and attach one part with a loop to the box.

Installing the door frame

Installation of the interior door box in the opening occurs in the following stages. On all sides, install wooden wedges so that there is an opening of at least 1 cm everywhere. And you can also use special anchors that will allow you to fix the box in the opening for a while, while you attach it with long screws to the wall. But before that, make sure that the door frame is installed exactly, the construction level will help in this. Use it to measure first for vertical evenness, and then for horizontal.

The final stage of installing an interior door

Take the door itself and install it on the hinges of the door frame. Try how the door opens and closes. If everything is fine, close the door and fill the openings around the box with construction foam. Until the foam dries, it is better not to touch the door. After complete drying, the excess parts of the filler must be cut off.
